The Teaching Assistantship (TA) Appointment Process and Timelines 2018-19
There are many steps in the appointment process for teaching assistants. Here is an overview of the entire process and timelines.
Continuing Teaching Assistants:
- March: Students indicate their intent to continue for the following year
- April: Instructors apply to post positions on the TA Posting System
- April: Chairs/Unit Heads approve postings
- June: Successful matches of Continuing TAs are made online
New Teaching Assistants:
- Late June: New TA jobs are posted using the TA Posting System
- Mid July: Supervisors/Unit Heads review, interview and rank new applicants
- Early Aug: Successful matches of NEW TAs are made online
Midterm Evaluations:
- November 15: Mid-term evaluations (DDAH) meeting scheduled for "F" session courses
- January 31: Mid-term evaluations (DDAH) meeting scheduled for "Y" session courses
- March 1: Mid-term evaluations (DDAH) meeting scheduled for "W" session courses
