SESSIONAL LECTURERS CONTINUOUSLY-POSTED NOTICE

FILLING POSITIONS UNDER THE CUPE 3902 UNIT 3 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

HOW TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION

The Ontario institute for Studies in Education (OISE) may hire Sessional Lecturers (instructors who teach for the University of Toronto on contracts of less than one year) to deliver some of its graduate courses.

To view and apply for specific positions, an application must be received through the OISE Faculty and Staff website.  

Please note that no paper or email applications will be accepted.

Applicants can view and apply by logging into the system with;

· A UTORID. If you have ever been employed or were a student at the University of Toronto, you should have a UTORID.  To verify your UTORID, or issues with your UTORID password, please use the UTORid verification system.

· If you have never been employed or were a student at the University of Toronto OR you forgot your UTORID, you can login with an OISE User ID and password. If you do not have an OISE User ID and password, you can create one using the OISE Authorization System.

Applicants should upload one Word or PDF file containing their cover letter and CV for which they would like to apply. Closing dates for each posting are noted on the postings. The site will stop accepting applications at 11:59 pm EST on the closing date of the posting.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Generally speaking, hiring decisions for courses starting in the Fall (Sept) are usually made in Spring/Summer. Hiring decisions for courses staring in the Winter (Jan) are usually made in Fall, and hiring decisions for course that start in the intersession (May) or summer (July) are usually made in the Spring.  However, some depts. make decisions earlier or later than these time frames, depending on circumstances. Applicants are encourage to check the system regularly. Unexpected vacancies may arise at any time.

Applications will be retained for twelve (12) months. Persons who submit applications and CVs will receive emailed job postings for specific positions for the subsequent twenty-four (24) months.

This notice is posted pursuant to the CUPE Local 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. Please note that, in accordance with that Agreement, preference in hiring is given to qualified persons holding the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in the posting department.

EXCLUSION EQUIVALENT COURSES

For candidates applying for a course, having taught a course that is declared an exclusion equivalent counts as relevant experience. For a list of exclusion equivalent courses, please see the OISE bulletin
