The Leithwood Award

The award was created in 2003 under the auspices of Professor Ken Leithwood when he was Associate Dean of Research at OISE, and recognizes exceptional and stimulating research produced by doctoral students in the last phase of their graduate work. It also gives OISE an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding quality and diversity of scholarly interests among its doctoral students.

Cutting-edge doctoral work

Galante’s novel study of plurilingual pedagogy in language education bridges the gap between the theory and practice of plurilingualism. Already gaining national and international attention, this ground-breaking work contributes practical, new directions in language pedagogy and language policy and is set to shape the future direction of language theory, policy and classroom practice.
