OISE Dean Julia O'Sullivan Announces New Faculty Appointments

Dean Julia O’Sullivan announced today the appointment of four new faculty members to the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) of the University of Toronto.

“I am delighted to welcome OISE's newest colleagues. Each of these scholars will contribute to OISE's diverse and intellectually rich community. Jeff Bale joins us from Michigan State University and is an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning; Anna Katyn Chmielewski also joins us from Michigan State and is an assistant professor in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education.  Scott Davies is a full professor in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education, is a UofT alum, and comes to us from McMaster University. Marcelo Vieta was most recently a research fellow at the University of Trento in Italy and is an assistant professor in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education. Please join me in welcoming our new colleagues."
 

Jeffrey Bale

Jeffrey Bale, appointed as associate professor, Curriculum, Teaching and Learning

Jeff earned his PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Arizona State University and comes to OISE from Michigan State University where he was an assistant professor in the Department of Teacher Education (2008-14). His research focuses on applied linguistics, second language education and multilingualism, teacher education and development, and humanities studies in education.
