Amy Lobo, a much-beloved mentor, community organizer, leader and liaison has won the Dr. Claire Alleyne Staff Excellence Award at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto.

"Amy Lobo brings many attributes to our unit. She is hard working, organized, creative and generous, but her greatest contribution to our community is in her dedication to our teacher candidates. All of her work is truly centered on providing the best possible experiences and opportunities for every student in our program. She is wonderful model and mentor for our future teachers and for us," said Eleanor Gower, the director of OISE's SUPO/Student Services.

Amy's nomination came in part from students, who consistently spoke of her impact on their personal student experiences and professional preparation as teachers.

The Dr. Claire Alleyne award is named for OISE's former and long-serving registrar, Claire Alleyne who is also an alumna.  The honour is bestowed upon one staff member annually, and acknowledges and celebrates the excellent work by an administrative, technical or research staff, and is designed to recognize employees who have demonstrated outstanding service, and made significant contributions to the OISE community.
