Resources for Feminist Research. A journal of Feminist Scholarship

Welcome to Resources for Feminist Research Journal / Revue de documentation sur la recherche féministe (RFR/DRF). We are an academic journal of interdisciplinary feminist scholarship and research. Published since 1972, RFR/DRF is one of North America’s first feminist, academic, and peer-reviewed publications.

NOTICE: Resources for Feminist Research Journal/Revue de documentation sur la recherche féministe, RFR/DRF is not publishing nor accepting any manuscript submissions for now.

As most of our readers and supporters know, RFR/DRF occupies an important place in Canadian feminist publishing as one of Canada’s and indeed North America’s first feminist peer-reviewed academic journals. We are proud of our publishing history, having published many of Canada’s most influential feminist thinkers. But, like other academic journals, in an era of diminishing funding sources and all but gone subscriber support, RFR/DRF as a very small publisher not tied to any of the big academic publishers, has decided with great regret to put a pause on its publishing at this time.

RFR/DRF is thankful to all those who have played a role in the journal’s success over the years; from the founding members, editorial board members, advisory board members, to our book and manuscript reviewers, and to our peer-reviewers who all played an important role in supporting the journal through their volunteer work. We are also very grateful to our editorial staff whose dedicated labour throughout the years sustained the publication of this journal. We also would like to thank the many journal editors and editorial board members who since the early 1970s, when the journal was first published, have guided the journal with their expertise and dedication. We also would like to acknowledge the important contribution of all those who trusted RFR/DRF throughout the years with their scholarship, it was the submissions of feminist Canadian and international scholars that made feminist academic publishing possible  for the journal. And last, but definitely not least, we would like to thank our readers, subscribers, and supporters whose support, financial and otherwise, made the continued publication of RFR/DRF possible.

We are deeply grateful to all for your continued encouragement.

We hope that despite the obstacles the future of feminist publishing in Canada is a bright one as now more than ever the knowledge and voices of all feminists are desperately needed in the continuing struggle against all forms of oppression.

In Solidarity,

RFR/DRF Journal Editors
