Nathasha Dias

Nathasha Dias, President (nathasha.dias@mail.utoronto.ca)

My name is Nathasha Dias and I am the President of the STU. I am a Chemistry/Biology I/S teacher candidate with a diverse body of experience. In the past, I have demonstrated responsibility and dedication while serving as the soprano section leader of the UTSC Concert Choir (2012-2015). I was responsible for leading weekly rehearsals to review concert repertoire. I have also showcased my leadership skills as a UTSC Lab Skills Seminar leader (2014), when I worked collaboratively to lead eleven workshops for 50-70 students. Aside from my love for teaching, I enjoy singing, volunteering in my community, and engaging in rigorous Netflix marathons (haha!).  As President, I am devoted to building a sense of community among OISE students in CTEP (B.Ed program). I am excited to represent the CTEP class of 2015-2016!

Ibrahim Dakhli, Vice-President of External Affairs (idakhli@gmail.com)

Hey! My name is Ibrahim Dakhli, I’m your current Vice President of External Affairs and I’ve been given the impossible task of summarizing who I am, in a span of a few words. Here goes! I’m a double major in Chemistry and English (Wacky Combo, I know). I am an ardent lover of sports, I particularly adore Basketball. I consider myself a spiritual individual who is finds himself often contemplating over the meaning of life, mortality, about philosophical theories, and other academic and human material of that nature. I look forward to working for all of you wonderful students here at OISE and making your year memorable and eventful (pun intended). I hope to meet you all in office hours, events, and even possibly in class!

Maria Eloisa Ongpin, Vice-President of Internal Affairs (maria.ongpin@mail.utoronto.ca)

Hello and Bonjour! My name is Maria Eloisa Ongpin. I am a 5th year CTEP student aspiring to become a French and English high school teacher. Sports and an active lifestyle have provided me with such a positive outlet. I enjoy running, working out, hiking and hot yoga! However, volleyball is life. I find excitement in traveling and meeting new people. I’ve done a summer abroad in France, which was a memorable experience. I love getting involved and encouraging others to do the same. As the Vice-President of Internal Affairs at OISE, I am responsible for organizing events on campus to establish a sense of community amongst all cohorts. Thus, I aspire to make this year memorable for all of you with the collaboration of other STU members to organize social events!
