MT & MACSE TEACHER WELLBEING COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE
Are you an MT or MACSE candidate who is interested in the intersection of education and wellbeing? Would you like to learn how to reduce stress and anxiety, manage feelings of overwhelm both in and out of the classroom, cultivate self-compassion, and build better relationships with your peers, colleagues, and students?
Join Amanda Baric for this free four-week series that will help MT and MACSE students:
● Learn how teacher wellbeing is directly linked to the wellbeing of students and the broader school community
● Learn about common conditions and practices teachers experience in education that can have negative health impacts
● Develop an awareness of your autonomic nervous system and the mind/body/spirit connection in education
● Explore and practice a variety of tools and techniques that can help to cultivate awareness and improve your overall health and wellbeing
● Be encouraged to develop a daily personal wellbeing practice that can help keep you grounded, present, engaged, joyful and healthy
● Connect and build community with others who share an interest in teacher health and wellbeing

PROGRAM OUTLINE
Week 1: The Importance of Teacher Wellbeing: Getting to Know Each Other & Our Nervous System Synchronous (Monday, July 11 - 10:00-11:30am)
Week 2: The Importance of Breath - Synchronous (Monday, July 18 - 10:00-11:30am)
Week 3: Self-Awareness through Contemplation: The Key to Self-Regulation - Synchronous (Monday, July 25 - 10:00-11:30am)
Week 4: Cultivating Connection: Presence, Compassion & Co-Regulation - Synchronous (Monday, August 1 - 10:00-11:30am)

ABOUT Amanda Baric
Facilitator Amanda Baric is a Master of Arts in Education student at OISE where she is researching teacher health and wellbeing in education. Amanda has been a high school educator for 17 years and is also a certified Yoga Therapist. She specializes in cancer recovery support, workplace trauma, and trauma-informed therapeutic yoga in educational, workplace, and community organization settings.

NOTE: This free series is for MT and MACSE candidates only. Space is limited to 15 participants. This is an intentionally designed series with the expectation that participants attend all synchronous sessions to allow for community connection and engagement. MT and MACSE candidates who participate in ALL four sessions are eligible to receive four co-curricular credits on their OISE Wellness Co-Curricular Record.
