Aanchal Atre

Biography

Aanchal is an educator and researcher focused on equity, belonging, and the experiences of students with multiple marginalized identities in higher education. Her current project examines how Queer South Asian students navigate university environments and whether existing Queer-focused campus supports are visible, accessible, and culturally responsive. Using a needs-based assessment approach, she identifies gaps in awareness and access to inform policy and develop improved support resources. As the first in her family to pursue doctoral studies and as an Awards and Financial Administrator at the University of Toronto, she is committed to translating her research into institutional practices that strengthen student agency and success.
