Vice President Academic
Meagan Muscat
Meagan Muscat is a doctoral candidate in Counselling Psychology located in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development (APHD) at OISE. She holds a master's degree in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy and is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO. Meagan has contributed to Indigenous-focused research through roles with the Indigenous Educational Research Centre at OISE and the Network Environments for Indigenous Health Research at the Waakebiness Institute for Indigenous Health. She also serves in student leadership, including most recently as the Equity Officer of the UTGSU. Her research focuses on Indigenous mental health and wellbeing through culturally responsive and holistic approaches to care. She is particularly interested in how culture, identity, and community shape mental health and access to meaningful services.

Vice President Finance
Jim Y. Huang
Jim Y. Huang is a PhD student at OISE and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with professional and academic experience in accounting, taxation, financial governance, and education. He also holds an LLM in Tax Law and an MBA. His research examines institutional systems, public finance, education, and the governance implications of emerging technologies. As Vice President Finance, Jim looks forward to supporting transparent financial administration, timely funding processes, and strong collaboration across the OISE student community.

Vice President Internal & Communications
Lyba Elahi
Lyba Elahi is a Master of Teaching student in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning (CTL) at OISE. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and a postgraduate certificate in Regulatory Affairs (RAQC). Her research interests include science equity, AI literacy in science curriculum, the affirmation of student identities, and pathways to STEM careers for marginalized and racialized youth. Lyba is experienced in student governance, event planning, developing and facilitating workshops on equity, inclusion, anti-Islamophobia, and anti-racism through her work with a Canadian advocacy and civil liberties organization as well as co-facilitating a workshop at the 2026 Combatting Hate and Racism with Lead Teachers Conference. As Vice-President Internal and Communications of the GSA, she is committed to fostering inclusive communication, meaningful student engagement, and collaboration while making events, research opportunities, and graduate student life more accessible.

Vice President Events
Krystal Huang
Krystal Huang is a Master of Education student at OISE. Prior to joining GSA, she held leadership roles as a Vice President and Director in various student organizations, where she planned and coordinated university events, international student programs, mental wellness activities, and more. As Vice President of Events, Krystal is dedicated to creating meaningful and inclusive experiences that bring students together. She is passionate about fostering a welcoming and supportive community through events that promote collaboration, well-being, and a sense of belonging. Through her work, Krystal hopes to create opportunities for students to build meaningful relationships, celebrate diverse experiences, and feel connected to the OISE community.

OISE’s Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) is committed to ensuring that all members are free from harassment and discrimination.
