Biography

Angelie is a PhD candidate in Developmental Psychology and Education whose research examines how technology mediates how learners write, self-regulate, and make meaning of their learning experiences. Her dissertation focuses on writing assessment in young learners, investigating how self-regulated learning strategies, such as planning, questioning, and self-assessment, relate to writing performance. In addition, her work also investigates how AI models can be used transparently and fairly in automated essay scoring. Beyond her dissertation, she has contributed to the BalanceAI platform by developing literacy, cognitive, and speaking assessment tasks, and has published research on dynamic assessment, self-regulated learning, and creative expression.
