Biography
Annie Chau is a PhD candidate whose doctoral research, Politics, Freedom, and Memory: The Identity-Making of Vietnamese Canadian Refugee Women in Life Story, has received a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship and Ontario Graduate Scholarships. She has published in Canadian Ethnic Studies, Atlantis: Critical Studies in Gender, Culture & Social Justice, the Canadian Review of Sociology, the Canadian Journal for the Study of Adult Education, and in the edited collection, Human Rights and the United Nations: Paradox and Promise. Annie worked for a decade in community-based sexual violence response and prevention in Canada, participating in national initiatives on gender (in)justice, through Women And Gender Equality Canada (formerly Status of Women Canada) and the Canadian Women’s Foundation.
