Biography
Ceara is a PhD candidate in Higher Education studying how course selection in secondary education shapes inequalities in STEM participation. Her dissertation uses quantitative methods to investigate racial and gender disparities in science and mathematics course enrollment in Ontario, while accounting for student achievement. Her work contributes to understanding student “choice” in education by highlighting sociodemographic factors associated with science and mathematics participation and by examining intersectional differences in enrollment across racial and gender identities.
