Biography
Sarah is a fifth-year PhD student and language educator whose work focuses on authentic discursive practices in multilingual spaces. Her doctoral research employs mixed methodologies to explore how LX speakers of English engage in phatic communion, or small talk. In addition to her teaching and research, Sarah is the Senior Managing Editor of the Journal of Belonging, Identity, Language, and Diversity (J-BILD), a scholarly open-access journal dedicated to fostering community and transparency in academic publishing.
