CLD CENTRE FOR LEADERSHIP AND DIVERSITY

WELCOME

CENTRE FOR LEADERSHIP & DIVERSITY

The Centre for Leadership and Diversity (CLD) was established in 2004 and is housed in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education at OISE. The Center is focused on Advancing the Cause of Equity, Social Justice and Democracy in Education

Faculty and students associated with the centre work collaboratively in the areas of leadership focussed on creating greater equity, social justice, and democracy in education.

We continue to recruit affiliated members from school systems, other universities, and other education stakeholders and internationally.

MISSION

The Centre for Leadership and Diversity (CLD) is devoted to engendering, promoting and sustaining an interest in, and commitment to, leadership, diversity, equity, social justice and all forms of oppression.

Centre initiatives are intended to encourage and nurture activities that advance the cause of equity, social justice and democracy in matters of leadership and policy. The activities include:

  • Conducting and disseminating research
  • Liaising with schools and school systems
  • Providing opportunities for emerging researchers and scholars

The Centre endeavors to forge a strong connection with practitioner-focused elements of OISE, and those who work on schooling and education. Education leaders interested in advancing the cause of equity, social justice and democracy in education are welcome to join.

Members of the Centre include faculty from the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education (LHAE) of OISE and other faculties and universities, as well as graduate students and practitioners.
