The wellbeing of our community is one of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education's (OISE) top priorities. We work hard to enhance our wellness programming in response to our community's diverse needs. We are committed to promoting learning and practice opportunities that contribute to individual and collective healing and change. Be sure to devote time to self-care by attending some of our wellness opportunities.
Sessions provide current and future educators with opportunities to deepen their personal practice and learn about research, theory, and the practice of integrating mindfulness within education systems.
The OISE Wellness Half Hour is a dedicated time slot every Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, where staff and faculty are encouraged to prioritize practices that enhance their personal wellness. The goal of the initiative is to provide an opportunity for the OISE community to prioritize self-care, reduce stress, and restore energy.
Join us for weekly drop-in sessions to help you reconnect with your body, mind, and emotions. Learn techniques, including mindfulness and yoga, for increasing your capacity to be reflective, strengthen your resilience, and improve your relationships with others.
Monthly Mindfulness Community of Practice meetings provide teachers, educators, teacher candidates, and teacher educators with an opportunity to be a part of an ongoing community of support. You’ll be invited to cultivate and deepen a personal mindfulness practice, engage in critical inquiry and reflection, explore applications of mindfulness in education, and engage in opportunities for discussion and ongoing connection.
