Education Commons On-Site Location Change
Scheduled

Due to the classroom renovations on the 3rd floor, effective Monday, July 13, 2026, Education Commons (EC) will relocate its on-site operations from the 3rd floor to the south side of the 8th floor of the OISE building (Room 8-105).

During the relocation period (July through early August), some Education Common service adjustments will be in effect, including:

  • The 3rd-floor interactive screen will no longer be operational.
    • OISE community members requiring in-person assistance should use the doorbell outside Room 8-105 to connect with an Education Commons team member.
  • During the week of July 13, on-site device deployments and technical support services will be provided on a modified schedule while the team relocates to the new space.

Updated information regarding service availability, locations, and contact methods will be shared throughout the transition and updated on the Education Commons website.

To ensure timely support, members of the OISE community are strongly encouraged to submit requests through the Education Commons Online Service Hub.

We thank you for your continued patience.

Quercus - Known Issues
Resolved

The identified issues have been resolved.

Jun 5, 2026 - 10:29 EDT
  • In Progress

All but two issues affecting the Quercus platform have now been resolved. The remaining known issues:

    1. Course Import Issue - When using the “Select Specific Content” option during a course import, leaving all items unchecked still results in all content being imported.
    2. Imported New Quizzes - When new quizzes are imported, they are always created as unpublished, regardless of the publication status in the source course.
    May 28, 2026 - 10:50 EDT
  • Identified

The following issues have been identified in Quercus impacting the OISE and University of Toronto community. These issues have been reported to Quercus’s parent company, Instructure (Canvas), and updates will be provided as fixes are implemented by the vendor.

    1. Course Import — When using the "Select Specific Content" option during a course import, leaving all items unchecked will still import everything. Canvas is currently working on a fix.
    2. SpeedGrader — Canvas has reached out to the vendor to fully restore the integration. Resolution is in progress.
    3. Cannot Unfavourite Courses Under Past Enrolments — Users are unable to unfavourite (unstar) courses that were favourited while active once they move to Past Enrolments. The user-interface is unresponsive when attempting to click the star icon. No workaround currently available.
    4. File Attachments in Announcement field Unavailable to Users — When users (both students and instructors) preview announcements from the dashboard, attached images, media, and documents return a 403 error and cannot be accessed. There is currently no workaround available.
