The Laidlaw Research Centre
Our mission is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together researchers throughout the university and beyond who are interested in advancing the field of child study.
We are faculty and affiliated researchers associated with the Jackman Institute, the Laboratory School, and programs in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development at OISE.
Our Vision is to advance the field of child study.
We Value high quality research that is conducted ethically and collaboratively among a diverse and inclusive community.
Our Purpose is to provide the home for faculty research and outreach at the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study. The Centre’s mandate is to support multidisciplinary research in child study, human development and education and foster research connections around particular child themes. As an integral unit of the Institute’s tri-partite mission, the Laidlaw Research Centre advances collaborations among faculty, the graduate students who are pursuing combined research and professional training in our MA and EdD in Child Study and Education programs, the Laboratory School teacher- researchers, academic colleagues at OISE and across the university, as well as with our many community partners and sponsoring organizations.
