Over 100 years, the Institute of Child Study has grown in a multitude of ways. We can’t wait to show you our new gym, courtyard, playground, and more. One thing that has not changed is the entrance at 45 Walmer Road.

This iconic entryway represents both a doorway to our past and a welcome to our future. We invite you to join us in creating a tapestry of artifacts, a reminder of our shared history and collective ICS journeys.

Two ways to participate:

1) Create a depiction of the school entrance

  • Grab a 10"x10" canvas (available for $1.75 at Dollarama)
  • Download photos of the school below for inspiration
  • Use ANY medium and ANY style to share your depiction of the 45 Walmer entrance
    • pencil, pencil crayon, water colour, acrylic, textile, mixed media, digital art, etc.
    • sketch, line drawing, realistic, cartoon, abstract, etc.

2) Take a photo of an ICS memory

  • Send a photo of the items or pictures that hold special meaning for you
  • Dig out your old projects, notebooks, artwork, clothing, or photographs
  • Snap a picture and send it in

Each piece of this collaborative quilt – whether a painting of the school’s entrance or a cherished memento – will tell a story of beginnings, belonging, and becoming. Together, they form a tapestry of shared history, reminding us that no matter how far we go, we are always part of something greater.
