Biography
Andrea is a Ph.D. candidate in the Developmental Psychology and Education program, where her research examines how neurodevelopment is shaped by adverse life experiences. She is currently using fNIRS to investigate neural mechanisms of resilience processes among Syrian and Afghan refugee youth. Through this work, Andrea aims to identify the neural pathways that support socio-emotional well-being through resilience processes, with the broader goal of informing evidence-based educational and community interventions that promote healthy development in youth facing adversity.
