On Sunday, Sep. 11, seven young people, including water and land defenders from across Turtle Island, are hosting a day of action in advance of a historic hearing on Monday, Sep. 12 in the Mathur et. al. climate charter case. These 7 young people are suing the Canadian government for their lack of action on climate change.
At 12 noon, the youth applicants and their lawyers will host a press conference at Hart House. From 2pm, the youth will lead a rally leaving from Queen's Park South Lawn. Ecojustice states that "Each will speak to their own personal story and the stakes of the climate crisis and this case. Hundreds of young people across the GTA have RSVP’d to attend and we expect the mood to be festive and determined."
