Summer 2023 Online Course Selection via ACORN opens March 22, 2023, at 6:00 am EST. Timetable and room assignments are subject to change. Check back regularly up to the start of classes for any changes.

Enrolment Notes

Periods during the Summer session

The Summer session at OISE consists of two 6-week periods: May-June and July-August. The term "Intersession" is historically used for the May-June period. Instructors compensate for any classes that may fall on a holiday.

  • 20235F refers to the first period (May to June) of the summer session which runs from Monday, May 01, 2023 to June 09, 2023.
  • 20235S refers to the second period (July to August) of the summer session which runs from Tuesday, July 04, 2023 to August 14, 2023.
Courses that require instructor approval
  • Please follow the instructions on our Course Enrolment webpage (in the "Enrolling in Courses" section).
Half-course limits
  • Full-time students can take no more than 2 half-courses in each period of the Summer session.
  • Part-time students can take no more than 1 half-course in the summer session (i.e., one in the May/June period OR one in the July/August period)
Master of Teaching (MT) program

MT Required Courses are not listed in this Course Schedule. They will be added automatically based on division, cohort and teaching subjects. Required courses may have slightly different sessional dates which will be provided by the MT program.

MEd students

Please be aware of how taking summer courses may affect your minimum degree fee.

Newly admitted students

Newly admitted students cannot start in the summer; they only begin their program in the Fall/Winter session.

Delivery Modes (2023-2024)

Delivery Mode Code Explanation
In Person INPER This meeting section is in-person. You will be required to attend this meeting section at a specific time and location.
Online
Synchronous
SYNC This meeting section is online and requires online participation at a specific time for class activities. There are no in-person activities or assessments (e.g., exams).
Asynchronous ASYNC This meeting section is online and does not require attendance at a specific time for class activities. There are no in-person activities or assessments (e.g., exams).
Hybrid HYBR This meeting section includes in-person and online activities. You will be required to attend both in-person and online activities at a specific time.

Enrolment Control Information/Release Dates:

Courses may have spaces that are restricted to certain groups of students. Courses may also have spaces that are temporarily reserved for certain groups of students.

1st Cycle: from March 22 (6:00 am EST) to April 3 (11:59 pm EST)
  • Spaces may be reserved for specific group(s) of students as stated in the individual Course Comment.

On April 4 course enrolment is not available. Course enrolment will reopen on April 5 (12:00 am EST).
  • You can add a course to your enrolment cart, but you won’t be able to take any other action. You cannot enrol, drop, modify, or join the waitlist until April 5 at 12 am (EST).

2nd Cycle: from April 5, 2023 (12:00 am EST) to May 3 (11:59 EST)
  • Any unused spaces reserved in the 1st Cycle are open to other OISE students unless stated otherwise in the individual Course Comment.

From May 4 (12 am EST) to May 8 (11:59 pm EST)
