The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto has been ranked the 7th best educational institution in the world by the QS World University Rankings. It remains highest out of all institutions in Canada, and now holds the top place for public universities in North America.
OISE was the only Canadian institution to place within the top 10 spots. The University of British Columbia placed 13, followed by McGill at 25.
“I am thrilled to see OISE consistently being recognized as a global leader in education,” said OISE Dean Glen Jones. “This acknowledgement attests to the strength of our faculty, programs, and research that continue to have a profound impact in education around the world."
The QS World University Rankings by Subject highlights universities that are leading across education, teacher training, and academic studies in education subjects. Rankings are determined using 13 performance indicators grouped into five areas, which include teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry income.
