OISE Alumni Association Doctoral Fellowship
The OISE Alumni Association (OISEAA) Doctoral Fellowship is a $10,000 award – generously established by the OISE Alumni Association – that honours and supports our Institute's full-time PhD candidates who have contributed to the association through volunteer activities.
We encourage full-time PhD candidates to apply. The annual application deadline falls between March and April.
How to volunteer with the alumni association
Students at any stage of their studies are encouraged to get involved with the alumni association! By engaging in any of the following volunteer activities, PhD candidates may qualify for the OISEAA Doctoral Fellowship:
1. Join our hybrid quarterly alumni association meetings and contribute your voice.
2. Volunteer on an occasional basis at alumni events through our student advisory committee.
3. Or join one of our subcommittees and help shape the alumni or alumni-student experience, online or on campus.
While there no minimum, volunteer contributions should be sustained and measurable before a fellowship application is made.
What makes the fellowship so special?

This generous fellowship is our way of helping doctoral students realize their dreams and build strong connections with their alma mater and the greater education community," said former OISEAA president Dr. Cindy Sinclair.
"The award builds new bridges between students and alumni, which benefits OISE by creating new synergies and ongoing collaborations," said Dr. Jeff Myers, a past president of the association. "Any time we can direct much-needed funds to deserving graduate students, we all win as a community. I couldn't be more proud of the hard-working team that made this award possible," he added.
