Get involved today, expand your network and skills

The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education Alumni Association (OISEAA) acts as the alumni voice on matters that affect our community. Together with the Office of Advancement & External Relations, the OISEAA creates events and experiences that foster a lasting bond between alumni, students, friends and alma mater.

The OISEAA provides a meaningful volunteer experience in higher education planning, alumni governance and community building. Over 100,000 alumni stand to benefit by developing their careers, networks and skills and celebrating achievements through the Institute.

Each year, the OISE Alumni Association helps deliver events, services and programs that create meaningful connections between alumni, students and alma mater—some examples of projects led by our alumni and staff.

Creating an engaged community

The OISE Stay At Home Club, the Writers' Roost: An OISE Alumni Conversation Series, the Alumni & Friends Leadership Lecture Series and the annual RWB Jackson Lecture feature our alumni and friends leading interactive sessions for kids, parents, educators and leaders.

Sparking career conversations

At OISE's back to school and recruitment events, we invite alumni based within and outside of Canada to offer their advice and insights to new and future students about academia, getting involved, and career pathways.

Planning OISE's future

The OISE Academic Plan would not have been complete without contributions from our alumni, who generated innovative ideas to help lead OISE towards its best future.

Steering U of T toward excellence

OISE's representing alumni governors share unique leadership skills to help shape U of T’s educational excellence, research priorities and global impact.

Championing doctoral students

We established the OISE Alumni Association Doctoral Fellowship to honour and support qualifying PhD students, while building bridges between students and alumni who volunteer.

Fostering mentorship

Chaired by alum Dr. Peter Liu, the OISE Mentorship Program boasts over 600 student and alumni participants annually — and the program continues to grow with the help of volunteers!

Awarding student leadership

The University of Toronto Student Leadership Awards recognize graduating students for extra-curricular contributions and leadership on campus. Each year, we help select and celebrate OISE's graduating student winners.

Celebrating changemakers

The OISE Leaders and Legends Awards — led by a committee of dedicated volunteers — recognize alumni and friends who are making an impact around the globe.

Ways to get Involved

Support Our Students

We support OISE's graduate students, the next generation in education, and you can too. Champion our promising students leaders by making a gift in an area of your interest.

Volunteer for activities and events on an occasional basis by following our volunteer group on Facebook or email us! Volunteering is a great opportunity for both students and alumni.

Join a Committee

From lecture series' and awards programs to fundraising initiatives and more, find an alumni association committee that meets your interests. See how you can apply your talent and get involved by exploring our committees and meeting our chairs.

Attend One of Our Dazzling Events

OISE events aim to educate, inspire and bring us together. There is always something new happening on and off campus. Attend an upcoming event.
