Announcing recipients of prestigous UofT postdoctoral fellowships

OISE is delighted to announce that four new postdoctoral fellows are joining our community on two-year fellowships. These fellowships have been awarded through highly competitive University of Toronto postdoctoral programs.

The Research Excellence Postdoctoral Fellows Program is a prestigious opportunity for early-career scholars to develop and expand their research. The program is designed for exceptional postdoctoral scholars eager to contribute to an innovative, vibrant, and inclusive academic community. Specifically, this program seeks to bridge the critical gap between doctoral training and independent academic careers by providing fellows with the resources, autonomy, and mentorship necessary to establish themselves as independent researchers.

We are very pleased to share the news that three postdoctoral fellowships have been awarded at OISE under this program:

  • Itamar Manoff: Historicizing Yiddishkayt: Between Cultural Reclamation and Political Education (Supervisor: Lauren Bialystok, SJE), September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2028.
  • Mishika Mehrotra: Predictors of Engagement with and Response to Behavioural Parent Training for Childhood Disruptive Behaviour (Supervisor: Brendan Andrade, APHD), August 1, 2026 to July 31, 2028.
  • Fati Osuman: AI-Supported Plurilingual Mediation and Learner Engagement among Refugees and Immigrants (Supervisor: Enrica Piccardo, CTL), September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2028.

The Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program provides funding to increase opportunities for hiring postdoctoral fellows from underrepresented groups, specifically researchers who identify as Black and/or Indigenous to Turtle Island. These fellowships enable postdoctoral researchers to grow their scholarly profiles, undertake academic work at the University of Toronto, and strengthen our research environment with diverse perspectives.

We are thrilled to announce that Jordan McVittie (Supervisor: Jeffrey Ansloos, APHD) has been awarded a 2026 Provost's Postdoctoral Fellowship, to be held from December 1, 2026 to November 30, 2028. A member of Timiskaming First Nation, her research focuses on Indigenous child well-being, with particular attention to suicide prevention, education, and child welfare systems.
