Call for Applications: Research Excellence Postdoctoral Fellows Program

As recently announced, OISE is participating in the new Research Excellence Postdoctoral Fellows Program this year. This University of Toronto program provides a prestigious opportunity for early-career scholars to develop their academic career and expand their research expertise at one of the world’s most distinguished public research universities. The program is designed to empower postdoctoral scholars with the autonomy to pursue an independent research program, while benefitting from close collaboration with leading faculty and access to tailored professional and career development supports. The program provides successful postdoctoral fellows with an annual salary of $80,000 and annual independent research funding of $10,000 for a two-year period. The program is co-funded by the University, which provides 60% of total fellowship costs, with the remaining 40% paid from supervisor funds (which may be offset by limited departmental and/or divisional support). The call for applications for the Research Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowship is now underway. Identifying a successful applicant for this competitive award will depend on the efforts of our excellent faculty. We are asking you to get the word out as widely as possible to relevant contacts and networks, and to consider supporting high quality applicants who reach out to you with requests to serve as their supervisor, or referring them to a colleague who may be able to support them. This important opportunity relies on OISE faculty members to submit applications to OISE Research by April 1, 2026 to nominate exceptional doctoral students or graduates (from any institution) for this prestigious fellowship.
