The OISE Student Success Centre (OSSC) offers the Thesis Writing Group (TWG) to help thesis-based students connect with their peers and make the writing process less stressful and more productive. The group is designed for students who are post-coursework and comps, working on their proposal, data analysis, or final dissertation writing.
By attending the Thesis Writing Group, you will have an opportunity to work on your thesis in a collaborative group setting, set goals, track your progress, celebrate milestones, and benefit from support from facilitators and peers.
*Please note that the group facilitator does not provide individual writing consultations. For one-to-one feedback, we recommend booking a session with the OSSC to discuss your work.

The Thesis Writing Group is intended for OISE students seeking structured writing time, peer connection, and support as they work toward their thesis milestones.

The TWG genuinely helped me so much! I struggled for a long time to find the best way to approach my writing, and the TWG helped me discover that time-blocking is an effective strategy for me. I’ve carried this strategy into other days of the week too, and it makes my work feel more manageable. I also enjoyed the consistency and predictability of having a quiet space every week devoted to writing.
