Journeys: Transforming Indigenous Education
The Journeys: Transforming Indigenous Education podcast is co-developed by the International Indigenous Consortium of Teacher Educators. We are teachers, principals, professors, community leaders, and researchers working in Canada, New Zealand, and Hawai’i. In this series we document our individual and collective journeys within educational contexts and beyond as we work towards Indigenous resurgence, educational sovereignty, and self-determination for all Indigenous Peoples.
The Journeys podcast is hosted by Dr. Ryan Neepin, who is a Cree scholar, educator, and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at Wilfrid Laurier University. As a member of Fox Lake Cree Nation, his work focuses on Indigenous education, decolonial pedagogies, and anti-colonial practices in teacher education. His scholarship is grounded in relationality, community engagement, and the integration of Indigenous knowledge systems into educational theory and practice. He holds a Ph.D. from OISE/UT in Curriculum and Pedagogy and is a former elementary school teacher.
Guests on the podcast include members of the consortium as well as colleagues working in the field of Indigenous education in Canada and globally. Thank you for listening!
